This policy is designed to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). By using our Services, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Our Commitment & Accountability

As a Canadian organization based in Ontario, we are responsible for the personal information under our control. We have designated our founder, Scott Roose, as the Privacy Officer who is accountable for our compliance with this policy and applicable privacy laws.

  • Purchase Information: When you purchase a product or enroll in a course, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and billing information. Note: Your full payment card information is not stored by us; it is processed directly by our secure third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).

  • Communications: If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, the contents of your message, and any other information you may choose to provide.

  • User Content: We collect the information you voluntarily post in our public or community forums. Due to the nature of our services, this may include sensitive personal information. We urge you to be mindful of the information you share in community spaces.

b) Information We Collect Automatically:

  • To Process Transactions: To fulfill orders and process enrollment in our courses.

  • To Communicate With You: To respond to your comments and questions, provide customer support, and send you important updates, security alerts, and administrative messages.

  • For Safety and Security: To protect our users and our platform by monitoring for activity that violates our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

  • To Improve Our Services: To understand how our users interact with our Services so we can enhance the user experience and develop new features and offerings. We may use anonymized and aggregated data for research and analysis.

We will never sell your personal information to third parties.

4. How We Share and Disclose Information

Your privacy is paramount. We do not share your personal information except in the limited circumstances described below:

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as web hosting, payment processing, and email distribution. These providers are given only the information necessary to perform their designated functions and are not authorized to use or disclose personal information for their own purposes.

  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process, such as a court order, subpoena, or search warrant from a Canadian authority.

  • To Protect Rights and Safety: We may disclose information if we have a good faith belief that it is necessary to prevent imminent harm to the rights, property, or safety of a person, or to protect our Services and community. This is in line with the critical disclaimers in our Terms of Service.

  • With Your Consent: We may share your information with other third parties when we have your explicit consent to do so.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include using secure server environments and encrypting sensitive data. However, please be aware that no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our systems or your information.

6. Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Information

Under PIPEDA, you have specific rights concerning your personal information.

  • Right to Access: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you.

  • Right to Correction (Rectification): You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information we hold about you.
